Urgent electrical calls, Levittown and Lower Bucks
Half the house dark at eleven at night is not a next business day problem. The phone is answered around the clock, every day, including holidays.

| Bring | Nothing. Do not reset a breaker that keeps tripping. |
Call right now if you have any of these
A burning or fishy smell near an outlet or the panel. Scorch marks or discoloration around a receptacle. A breaker that trips again the moment you reset it. Buzzing or crackling from the panel. Water anywhere near the service equipment. Any of these is a stop and call situation, not a wait and see.
What to do before we get there
If you smell burning and can identify the circuit, shut that breaker off and leave it off. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips instantly, it is telling you something. If the panel itself is buzzing, hot, or wet, do not open it. Get out and call from outside.
Partial power loss is usually one of two things
Half the house dark with the other half fine is often a lost leg at the service or a failed main lug connection. Sometimes it is PECO's side of the meter, sometimes it is yours. We can tell you which in the first few minutes, and if it is theirs we will say so.

About emergency service
What if it happens at night or on a weekend?
Leave a message and you will hear back first thing. One of our Google reviews describes exactly that: power flickered during a Sunday storm and took out a breaker, and the job was done bright and early Monday morning. If you smell burning or see arcing before then, shut the circuit off at the panel if you can reach it safely, and call PECO at 1-800-841-4141 if the problem is outside the meter.
Is there an after hours rate?
Nights, weekends and holidays are priced differently than a scheduled weekday call. You will hear the number on the phone before anyone gets in a truck, so the first time you see a price is never on the invoice.
My power is out. Is it me or PECO?
If the whole street is dark it is PECO. If it is only your house, or only part of your house while the neighbors are fine, it is on your side of the meter and worth a call.
